EIZO Rugged Solutions Announces CUDA-Based Single-Slot 3U VPX GPGPU/SBC for SWaP-Critical Airborne-ISR Applications
EIZO Rugged Solutions Inc. has introduced a high performance conduction cooled 3U VPX graphics processor which is combined with an XMC single board computer (SBC) and NVIDIA CUDA architecture to create a powerful single-slot 3U VPX GPGPU solution.
The Condor GR3 3U VPX rugged graphics module/SBC was developed for airborne
Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications where size, weight, and power (SWaP) are key considerations. The architecture allows for an easy and flexible upgrade path of both the graphics module and the SBC. The card also offers a wide range of I/O options including SATA, RS-232, USB 2.0 and1Gbps Ethernet to deliver extraordinary power and flexibility.

The Condor GR3 3U VPX hosts the NVIDIA GeForce GTX-950M processor which offers 640 CUDA cores, 4 GB of GDDR5 graphics memory and 1,271 TFLOPs of floating point performance. A range of configuration options are available for balancing CPU and GPGPU performance requirements. The card has been designed to support the development of graphics and video processing applications using the NVIDIA CUDA architecture (CUDA 5.0) as well as the industry-standard OpenCL programming language (Open CL 1.2).
The rugged GR3 is MIL-STD-810 compliant and supports PCI Express 2.0 (8 or 4 lane). It provides DVI, VGA, and DisplayPort++ video outputs from the rear VPX P1/P2 connectors. Engineering support pre- and post-sale is offered by EIZO Rugged Solutions to help customers meet specific project requirements with design modification.
There are currently two available SBC configurations: the Condor GR3-C3 3U VPX, which supports an Intel Core i3 processor, and Condor GR3-X7 3U VPX which supports an i7-5700EQ. Other SBC configurations will be supported in the near future.
