Software Development Tools
BittWare offers four types of development tools:
- Code development
- Host interface
- Operating systems
- Developer's kits
Code Development Tools
BittWare offers a variety of code development
tools to help get designers started developing their DSP systems.
VisualDSP++ from Analog Devices provides a C++ compiler, simulator,
multiprocessor source-level debugger, and advanced plotting tools.
The VisualAudio Environment from Analog Devices streamlines the design of SHARC DSP based
audio systems.
For users developing
applications with Gedae, BittWare offers the EZTigerSHARC BSP, which
allows them to port their designs to any of BittWare's TigerSHARC
boards.
The TS-Lib & SpeedDSP libraries provide extensive libraries
of routines optimized for the TigerSHARC and SHARC processors, helping
to cut development time and costs.

for SHARC and TigerSHARC DSP
- EZ-TigerSHARC BSP
for Gedae: TigerSHARC board support package for Gedae
- SpeedDSP Optimized libraries
for SHARC
- TS-Lib: Optimized libraries for TigerSHARC
Host Interface Tools
For interfacing host applications with BittWare hardware, BittWare
offers the DSP21k Toolkit, which includes a variety of utilities,
diagnostics, and libraries.
For testing and debugging the code, BittWare offers a variety of
tools, including the BittWare Target, a software debugger target for
VisualDSP++; hardware emulators from Analog Devices; and the many
diagnostic tools included with the DSP21k Toolkit.
- Analog Devices
Emulators: In-circuit emulators
- BittWare Target: Debug target for VisualDSP++
- BittWorks: Software Toolset for BittWare DSP Products
- DSP21k Porting
Kit: Source code for DSP21k Toolkit
- DSP21k Toolkit: Libraries, applications,
and diagnostics for BittWare hardware
- Remote Target: BittWare Target
for remote systems
- Remote Toolkit: DSP21k Toolkit for remote system
Operating Systems
Several real-time operating systems are available
for developing realtime applications for single and multiprocessor
platforms, including VSPWorks from WindRiver, OSEck from Enea, and
VDK from Analog Devices.
- Enea OSEck RTOS: Real-time operating system
from Enea
Developer's Kits
Developer's kits are available for all
of BittWare's SharcFIN PCI-DSP bridge chips as well as for all boards
that feature an FPGA.

- FPGA Developer's Kits
Developing a DSP application requires a software tool suite that is tightly
integrated, takes full advantage of the capabilities of the DSP, and covers the entire product
development cycle – from code development, to debugging, to final deployment. To provide such a
software suite for its SHARC and TigerSHARC DSP boards, BittWare has combined its years of
experience with Analog Devices’ DSP products with the expertise of many other industry leaders.
The result is a set of software tools that shortens designers’ learning curve while increasing
their productivity, allowing them to reduce development costs and shorten their time to market
