Dual Core, Quad Gigabit Ethernet Processor PMC Module Based on the Broadcom BCM1255 Processor

The Extreme Engineering Solutions XPedite3100 is a high-performance Processor PMC Module (PrPMC). A 64-bit 133MHz PCI-X PMC interface provides the system designer with ample bandwidth for I/O intensive applications. Four Ethernet ports provide a flexible I/O interface by auto-negotiating between 1000, 100, and 10 Mbs operation.

Broadcom BCM1255

The X-ES XPedite3100 utilizes the low power dual core Broadcom BCM1255 embedded Processor. With integrated PCI-X, DDR2 SDRAM, and Ethernet interfaces, the BCM1255 offers a highly optimized solution for packet processing and high-end computing applications. The serial and gigabit Ethernet interfaces are accessible either through the front panel or P14 I/O. Up to 1GB soldered DDR2-667 SDRAM provides ample memory bandwidth.

XPedite3100 is ideal for PrPMC applications requiring low power yet high bandwidth and processing performance. While operating at 1GHz, the BCM1255 provides 5000 DMIPs of processing power.
