Intel Corporation is an American multinational technology company that designs and builds the essential technologies that serve as the foundation for the world's computing devices. With headquarters in Santa Clara, California, Intel is one of the worlds largest and highest valued semiconductor chip makers.

As the inventors of the x86 processor family Intel supplies processors for computer system manufacturers such as Samsung, Dell, Apple and HP, while providing motherboard chipsets, network interface controllers and integrated circuits, flash memory, graphics chips and embedded processors.

Sarsen Technology works with a number of manufacturers who base their hardware around products from Intel, including the following chips:

Intel® Xeon® D (formerly Broadwell-DE):
Provides customers with an industry first, server class System-on-Chip (SoC) package, based on power-efficient 14 nm technology. The Xeon D supports 16 Xeon®-class cores in a single, power-efficient System-on-Chip (SoC) package, with native extended temperature support for up to 12 core count SKUs.

Intel® Atom E3800 (formerly Bay Trail-I)
This processor family provides a high level of computational performance and I/O functionality for their power profile and size. TheBay Trail processors are low power system-on-chips (SoC) with integrated graphics and support for up to four cores operating at up to 1.91 GHz.

5th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 (formerly Broadwell-H)
An optimal choice for any project that requires top processing performance in spite of rugged or adverse conditions.

Intel and Altera announced on June 1, 2015 that they entered into a definitive agreement under which Intel would acquire Altera for approximately $16.7 billion.  The transaction closed on December 28, 2015.

The acquisition will couple Intel’s leading-edge products and manufacturing process with Altera’s leading field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology. The combination is expected to enable new classes of products that meet customer needs in the data center and Internet of Things (IoT) market segments. Intel plans to offer Altera’s FPGA products with Intel Xeon® processors as highly customised, integrated products.
