By combing DTA-2300, 10 Gigabit network attached digital IF transceiver (SDR) and one or more DTA-5000 multi-core server based disk storage system(s), D-TA Systems has created a scalable record /playback system architecture for phase coherent (synchronized) record and playback of multiple wideband radio signals. The recorded data can be played back to recreate the radio signals. Alternatively, computer generated pre-stored data can be played back for scenario generation, channel simulation and RF test.
The DTA-2300 provides up to 16 IF inputs and outputs, 16-bit ADCs and DACs and one 10 Gigabit network for data for each group of 4 channels (inputs & outputs). The maximum ADC sample rate is 130 MHz and the maximum DAC update rate is 500 MHz (interpolating and up-converting DAC with maximum input data rate of 130 MHz). The DTA-2300 on-board FPGA is factory loaded with a DDC (Digital Down Conversion) core for each input (channel). The DDC supports programmable decimation of 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32. The ADC output data is typically stored as complex baseband (I & Q) data. The stored data can be played back to produce outputs at user-programmed IFs.
The data is recorded in to one or more DTA-5000 systems. Each system holds 16 high reliability SAS drives to provide up to 9.6 Terabyte of storage. The highest configuration (10 G/R4) system has four DTA-5000 units (one per 10 Gigabit Fibre). It sustains a recording rate of 2.4 GBytes/s and offers up to 38.4 Terabytes of storage.
The DTA-3200 RF/IF Transceiver system can be used with any 10 G/Rx system to directly handle radio signals from the antennas. The 10 G/R1 and 10 G/R2 systems also provide replicated 10 Gigabit networks to allow simultaneous processing during recording. This feature is offered as an option
The 10 G/R systems come fully integrated and are often shipped in a shock-mounted portable case for field deployment. A comprehensive GUI offers failsafe operation and provides for data quality check during record and playback by displaying snapshots of FFT and Time Series data.
