Electra ASIC - Ultra-high-performance, Multi-channel ADC/DAC Transceiver

jariettech.com

The Electra ASIC is a high-performance, multi-channel ADC/DAC transceiver built on Jariet Technologies’ advanced RF data converter platform. It significantly simplifies RF and microwave system architectures by directly digitising signals at rates of 40 to 64 GSPS per channel, with analog input frequencies up to 36 GHz and instantaneous bandwidths as wide as 6.4 GHz. Electra is available in two-channel (-M) and four-channel (-Q) configurations.

At its core, Electra features 10-bit ADCs and DACs operating at 64 GSPS, delivering industry-leading noise spectral density and spurious-free performance. These specifications meet the stringent requirements of wideband, high-frequency transmit and receive systems. For instance, the ADC achieves a -155 dBFS/Hz noise spectral density and 60 dBc IMD3 at 10 GHz. Each ADC/DAC pair is driven by its own low-jitter synthesizer, ensuring uncorrelated clock noise across RF channels.

Electra's digital processing capabilities include multi-band digital up/down conversion, performance correction, FFT, embedded CPU, RAM for capture/playback, and high-speed multi-lane JESD204C interfaces at 30 Gbps.

To support streamlined integration, Electra incorporates built-in self-test (BIST) features such as on-chip loopback and temperature monitoring. Synchronisation functions also support precise phase alignment in multi-antenna array systems.

Electra is offered in various sample rates and frequency configurations to suit diverse application needs, delivering optimal performance, pricing, and power efficiency.

Applications:
  • Military & Aerospace: Radar, EW, EA, ISR, ELINT, Comm
  • Commercial: 5G Base Station, PtP, Test & Measurement Equipment, Autonomous Vehicles, Radiometry
  • Test and Measurement
  • Phased array and data aggregation end uses
