At Sarsen we like to celebrate. Birthdays, Christmas, Tuesdays...
This week we're paying tribute to the valued contribution made by Laura Hallsworth, our esteemed, top level Finance Manager, who has reached her six year anniversary at Sarsen Technology.
Laura H (
identifying initial necessary as one of three Lauras at Sarsen) is a key member of the team. As well as her extensive knowledge of cricket, cake baking and ball room dancing, she also manages to fit in controlling all of the accounting and financial processes for Sarsen, including invoicing, cash flow management and wrestling with foreign exchange rates.
As Laura isn't customer facing not everyone has had the pleasure of meeting her, so we ask her a few questions to commemorate the milestone.
- How have you seen things change at Sarsen over the six years that you have been here?
LH - The biggest changes were probably prompted by the pandemic. The move to hybrid working for the team and the office going virtually paperless have both been positive consequences.
- What's your favourite thing about life at Sarsen?
LH - A bit cliché-d, but the people are great. Very supportive, bright and lots of fun. I particularly appreciate the flexibility offered by the management group which enables me to balance a busy homelife (4 children, 2 dogs, 3 chickens, a tortoise and a budgie!) with working in a professional environment.
- What has been the biggest challenge?
LH - Trying to work while homeschooling during lockdown was negative fun….
- Finally and most crucially, what has been the most memorable gift that you have received for the now famous Sarsen Secret Santa?
LH - A truly ugly misshapen mustard ceramic beaker from Nigel. It mysteriously disappeared not long after received it...
