Twas the night of the party, the workplace was bright,
With laughter and chatter, a jubilant sight.
No emails were chiming, no deadlines in view,
Just festive delight as the merriment grew.

The gang met at Dans at seven o’clock,
With Secret Santa gifts and their very best frocks.
When what to my curious eyes should appear,
But the boss in a jumper that screamed “Christmas Cheer.”

With reindeer and sequins, he looked rather merry,
Though his eggnog-filled tumbler was more than half sherry.
More rapid than deadlines, the colleagues, they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

“Operations and Admin! And Finance and Sales!
To the table, for cocktails, where the party prevails.
With crackers in hand, let’s have a great night,
Now eat away! Drink away! Enjoy every bite!”

The plates overflowed with the bounty in store,
Roasted potatoes and turkey and more.
The pork was a hit, the sea bass was yummy,
All were enjoying the treats in their tummy.

The office exchange, all purchased for charity,
Each Secret Santa gift sparked joyful hilarity.
A new book, a posh candle, a plant in a pot,
Each gift was a treasure, a special small thought.
 -
And then came the pudding, panna cotta and pie,
The sugar and frosting reflected in eyes.
A toast to the year, to the work that we did,
The storms we all weathered and the goals that we hit.
