March 2026 - HIPER Global UK Strengthens Capabilities with the Integration of Sarsen Technology

DVD 2026: Connected for Combat

DVD 2026 - Astute Systems

Date: 16-17 September 2026
Location: UTAC Millbrook
Stand: C3 A14
Taking place on 16th–17th September 2026 at UTAC Millbrook, DVD 2026 is the UK’s biennial defence industry exhibition sponsored by the National Armaments Director Group and Army Headquarters.

This year’s theme, “Connected for Combat – Aligning people, systems and decisions,” focuses on the increasingly integrated operating model of modern defence. The event brings together the MoD, industry innovators, and users of land equipment for two days of demonstrations and collaboration.

The primary goal is to showcase scalable, resilient equipment that strengthens the British Army’s approach to mass, lethality, and modernisation. This is why we're so excited to be supporting Astute Systems at DVD 2026!

As the UK representative for Astute Systems, we bring their high-performance computing solutions tailored for the demanding environments of the modern battlefield, such as their NVIDIA-based GXA-1 mission system and the brand new BushNET AI enabled Central Nervous System (CNS)to the UK market.

The Showcase - A.T.L.A.S Digital Crew Suite for GVA

The centerpiece of Astute Systems’ presence at DVD 2026 is their ATLAS (Adaptive Tactical Land Awareness Suite) Digital Crew System.

ATLAS Digital Crewe Suite - GVAATLAS is a full-stack, end-to-end software suite purpose-built for Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA). It is designed to eradicate proprietary "stovepipes" in military vehicles, where each new sensor traditionally requires an entirely new screen bolted into the cabin. Instead, ATLAS connects every sensor, camera, radar, weapon system, and health monitor via a single open data bus.

Fully compliant with UK MoD DEF STAN 23-009 (Part 3) and supporting Land Data Model (LDM) v10.0.0, the ATLAS suite centralises all mission data onto one unified digital glass display, transforming legacy and next-generation platforms into connected, upgradeable fighting systems.

Within the ATLAS suite, the true enabler of this interoperability is the Astute DDS (Data Distribution Service) communications layer, which serves as the central middleware for the entire software stack. The Astute DDS is engineered specifically as a GVA-first implementation of the mandated Object Management Group (OMG) standard. It is the critical network layer that bridges IP/Ethernet infrastructure to high-level mission applications. It allows real-time, low-latency distribution of AI-ready data across the vehicle's network without failure.

Thanks to this DDS layer, auxiliary capabilities, such as the GVA Alarms service, User Access Control Manager (UACM), and VIVOE-compliant MediaX Video Streaming, can seamlessly register and communicate with one another. To support engineers and delivery teams, Astute Systems pairs their DDS with LdmX, a GVA DDS Debugger. This allows crews to visually inspect DDS messages in real-time, record/playback data, and monitor dynamic capability registrations across the vehicle’s data bus.

Summary

At DVD 2026, Astute Systems will be demonstrating that the future of armoured vehicle capability lies in software-defined flexibility. By controlling the entire software stack from the low-level Astute DDS communications layer up to the ATLAS Digital Crew user interface we can remove multi-vendor integration headaches, lowers lifecycle costs, and gives defence forces a single, future-proof framework to integrate once and upgrade forever. Supported by partners like HIPER Global / Sarsen Technology, Astute Systems delivers a complete, turn-key GVA solution ready for immediate tactical deployment.

Catch up with Ross Newman, Adam Modd and the UK team at DVD 2026.
