Overview
1553/ARINC Real-Time Ethernet Converter (Rugged, Cable In-Line Package)
The NLINE-EMA4 is an industry-first, rugged, in-line real-time Ethernet converter designed for multi-protocol MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC networks.
By embedding the full capabilities of Alta’s ENET-MA4 bridge directly into an over-molded cable assembly, this zero-footprint device eliminates the need for internal computer card slots or external appliance boxes, resulting in critical space savings and unmatched deployment flexibility. The converter delivers secure, real-time UDP connectivity to a system LAN, providing real-time Ethernet conversion for one or two dual-redundant 1553 networks and up to four ARINC-429 channels (with 717 selectable options).
Unlike traditional processor-based Ethernet converters that rely on vulnerable IP stacks, the NLINE-EMA4 employs a hardware-centric FPGA thin server, achieving ultra-low latency packet turnaround times under 20 microseconds and removing vulnerabilities to viruses and hacking.
It features an auto-boot sequence, an Automatic Data Bridge Mode that transmits time-stamped UDP packets without host programming, and built-in Signal Capture capabilities for remote bus signal troubleshooting.
Supported by the robust AltaAPI Software Development Kit for seamless application portability, the NLINE-EMA4 passes rigorous environmental testing including MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration, MIL-STD-461F EMC, and altitude and water-immersion requirements, making it ideal for field platforms, flightline testing, and mission-critical embedded systems.
